Description

The CVA™ Northwest Legal Wolf™ V2 has many new features including all the features that made the original Wolf the number one selling muzzleloader in the world. Maintaining its light weight and ease of maneuverability, this rifle is the perfect choice for youth, small-framed adults, or even for the shooter who just wants a quick-handling gun for brush hunting.

The patent-pending Northwest Legal Breech Plug transforms this rifle from a 209 closed-breech rifle to an exposed musket cap breech, making the Wolf V2 legal for hunting in Idaho and Oregon.

The 100% ambidextrous stock comes in a black synthetic finish. The Wolf™ V2 also features CVA’s new QRBP (Quick-Release Breech Plug) – the only true tool-free removal breech plug on the market today. Even after 20 or more shots, the QRBP comes out with just a twist of the fingers – try that with any other "speed breech" system. Plus, the break-action breech opens easily with just a touch of the breeching button, which is located in the front of the trigger guard.

The Wolf V2's compact and quick-pointing barrel is made of stainless steel and is comes complete with DuraSight™ Fiber Optic Sights. The Wolf: It’s a lot of gun for a reasonable price that won’t break your wallet.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This Northwest Legal muzzleloader uses a musket cap ignition system that is only required in Idaho and Oregon. If you are hunting in any other state we recommend purchasing a non-Northwest Legal muzzleloader. For the 209 primer version of this rifle, CLICK HERE.

beginner gun my a$$

Filtered through all of the models and chose this. Not my first muzzleloader or rifle. Considered quality, options, price, parts , propellant, and ignition availability. Where I live and hunt, I can use a 209 ignition with a scope but still chose this particular model. Why? Simplicity and more traditional. I've worked a good load for this rifle to include 90gr of Pyrodex P, Hornady Great Plains 385gr, and Schutzen caps. Extremely impressed with its performance. Fires first time every time. I did NOT expect to have such great accuracy out of this, just average. Because of my results, I've ordered a scope for my Wolf and will be using this for the general firearms season. I'll leave our muzzleloader season to my old CVA Frontier with a patched ball. The older I get, the farther back in time with regards to technology I seem to be heading. One opportunity, one shot, one kill.
Back to the Wolf and ML.com. Great rifle and fantastic service. Products were well packaged, shipped promptly and accurately.

Great gun, nice and light

This is a highly accurate (within 100 yards) blackpowder rifle. It's extremely light which is great when it comes to the bush, but fair warning it does pack quite the kick on a full load lol

great right out of the box

I admit being a first timer I was a little apprehensive about my first shot. I was worried about everything from a huge kick (eventhough I shoot a 338). One shot from the hip, one shot not aiming from the shoulder, then two shots at 25 yards 2" apart, moved the target out to 100 , hit two in a row, a couple inches apart right out of the box, using the car roof as a shooters bench. Its a great little gun, too bad I could only get within about 400 yards of the elk last year, but I will be back after them this December.I am not sure how far this thing will shoot with our NW rules, but I imagine 150 yards is about it.
