The Traditions® Vortek StrikerFire™ is the latest revolution in muzzleloading. This rifle represents the first new innovation in the muzzleloading industry in many years. This rifle takes in-line muzzleloaders to the next level by removing the need for an external hammer and replacing it with an internal StrikerFire™ System. The StrikerFire works on the same principal as modern center-fire rifle safeties. To cock the gun, simply slide the striker button forward until it locks, then fire. The recessed de-cocking button allows for quick and quiet de-cocking of the firearm. The gun also comes equipped with an automatic de-cocking mechanism, so when the gun is opened, it is automatically de-cocked. By eliminating the external hammer you get faster lock times, plus the ability to mount your scope closer to the bore allows the gun to operate with less weight.
Traditions™ equipped the StrikerFire™ with some additional features. The StrikerFire™ is outfitted with a two-stage trigger that is set at 3 pounds and is creep free. The innovative stock design makes the rifle lighter than any other rifle in its class while still maintaining maximum strength and durability.
The StrikerFire™ also features a premium CeraKote finish, black composite stock, one-piece Accelerator Breech Plug™ that allows you to fire both loose or pelletized powder without changing the breech plug, a Dual Safety System, and Speed Load System that enables easier loading and more consistent groupings.

Traditions™ Vortek StrikerFire - Black.
"i had it for six yrs was hard to sight in at first swithed to harvester sabots barnes 290 tmz shoots dead on great muzzleloader "
"I have tried many different combinations of sabots, powerbelts, and powder/pellets. It feels as if I've spent more on powder and ammo than the ML/Nikon scope combo trying to get this to group. First two shots group and then I get a flier. Make an adjustment to the scope and it shoots somewhere else. It just makes no sense. I shoot 1" groups at 100 yds. with my 30-06 and I've never shot anything with such unpredictable results. Called traditions and they said, "stay away from powerbelts". I wish I new that before buying them! Tried them all - aero tip, aero light and platinums. $$$$....After one misfire, I found the powerbelt halfway down the barrel. On another occasion, after a misfire, powerbelt fell right out of the barrel! Once they separate from the plastic base, they are free to slide in the barrel. Try it. They're dangerous. It's back to the range to try yet another combination!"
"Have shot the rifle quite a bit out to 150yrds, very accurate. It will easily put 3 bullets in a 2.5” group at that distance. I shoot 115 grains of blackhorn with the hornady monoflex 250 gr bullet and it definitely likes it. The trigger has some creep, and the ramrod is somewhat lackluster but the rifle will shoot. Overall I’m very pleased with it."
"Wasn't sure when I bought this rifle. Had a CVA MR and liked it. Really just bought this one as a back up in case something broke on the other one. After shooting both, the Traditions is much more accurate with groups inside an inch with 100gr of triple 7 and a 245 gr platinum Powerbelt. The gun is a pleasure to carry and as advertised. The trigger is a 2 stage which takes a few shots to get use to, but when you do, it is a 2 lb trigger. Some reviews say it has creep-it's a 2 stage. They creep until slack is taken up and then releases. I love the trigger. I am not trashing the CVA because as I said, I like it. I just don't think I have found the load and powder it likes. "
"Purchased this rifle about a year ago and have shot quite a few rounds through it using Pyrodex and Blackhorn 209 powder along with sabot's. The bore is tight and I ended up choosing the Harvester Crushed Rib sabot for easy of loading, some sabots I tried I couldn't even get started down the bore much less fully seated on the powder charge. Rifle will shoot under an 1" group at 100 yards with 110 grains of BH209, Hornady XTP 300 grain .45 pistol bullet in a Harvester Crushed Rib sabot with a CCI 209M primer for ignition. Muzzle velocity for the load is at 1930 fps, I saw close to 2000 fps with 120 grains of BH209 but the groups started to enlarge.
Only thing I don't like about the muzzy is the ram rod so I purchased a TC rod that you cut to fit yourself and use it instead of the factory rod. I also use a range rod for cleaning so I don't need the fancy rod with the reversible end deal."
"The quality of this weapon is high. The fluted Chromoly barrel makes this weapon lighter than most... if you are looking for a lightweight hunting gun, the fluted Chromoly is perfect."
