The Traditions™ Trapper Flintlock Pistol is styled after the single-barreled pistol proudly carried by early mountain men, trappers and traders as their weapon of choice. These pistols proved to be extremely reliable. That same reliability was essential for a trapper who might have to stake his life on his pistol’s ability to provide a back-up shot in what could be a dire situation.
The Trapper pistol’s primitive-style adjustable rear sight, octagonal barrel and double set triggers, capable of firing set or unset, allow the shooter to predictably put his shots on target. The Traditions™ Trapper Pistol is a .50 caliber flintlock model with a 9.75" blued octagon barrel and handsome select hardwood stock. The Trapper is patently compact and easy to maneuver at only 15.5" in length. Pistol requires 5/8” hand knapped flint (flint sold separately). Relish stepping back into the past with Traditions™ Trapper Flintlock Pistol.

Superb gun review by SciFiWriter on 8/4/2019
"I am very pleased with my flintlock musket. Very well made, sturdy, and reliable. Just be sure and get some 4f black powder for the primer pan. It shoots well and I highly recommend it for history enthusiasts. The .490 round ball it shoots hits like a ton of bricks. Also, be sure and get some flints."

Super Nice Flintlock Pistol review by Mountain man Jess on 3/29/2019
"I received this fast, I loved the looks and feel of this pistol, it only took 5 shots to begin placing 3 inch bullseyes at 50 yds, I later after becoming more use to this pistol was shooting 75 yd ,3 inch bullseyes, this flintlock is just so much fun to shoot and I'm still shocked at how accurate this is, giving this a thumps up 5***** rating"

"I liked the way the flintlock was delivered on time. I like the cost of it. I like the looks of it. i like the way it shoots. I have two other flintlock rifles, but this pistol is fabulous. I'm 64 years old and my goal is to get a whitetail deer with this pistol. Thank You for what you have done."
Great Pistol, Fast Shipping review by Amede H on 12/7/2016
"Just picked this pistol up. I own lots of flintlock rifles but this is the first pistol. I placed the order on a Monday night and received the package on Wednesday!. Great quick shipping.
Unpacking the pistol was easy. Quick note, there was a minimal manual with it and no flint or leather piece for the jaw! 5/8" flints aren't easy to come by. Luckily I had 2 that were rather smaller and was able to knap them down to work. Make sure you order at least 4 or 5 English flints for this. It is a small lock and to get a GOOD spark you will need the English flints. Another issue is that the jaws do not have an alignment slot, so you have to hold the upper jaw when you tighten it down. Overall, the pistol has good feel and balance, and the front sight stands out nice. Once I had a flint lined up I tested the trigger and both in the set and unset position the trigger was perfect. The flash hole liner is a nice design and is open enough that you shouldn't have to mess with it.
At the range. Took it out yesterday and had a blast. First, you need to find a load for it that works, THEN adjust the sights. I shot 6 rounds just getting used to it then got down to business. I worked up to 30gr FFF GOEX, .015" linen patch(Mink Oil) and Hornady .490 RB. This produce a 3 shot 2.5" group at 25 yards. Good enough to start with and will fine tune further. But I believe I should be able to trim that down. I am also going to try some Lee R.E.A.L. bullets that I have cast and see how they do. IF they shoot well I would absolutely hunt with this pistol as it is easy to shoot offhand and quite accurate. A loading issue that I encountered is that the lock is so small, I had to fully cock the lock in order to use my pan charger and get the pan powder in there. This is a safety issue, so check before you go shooting that you can charge the pan at half cock.
Conclusion. This is a great starter pistol. With some adjustments to accommodate for the smaller lock, it is a joy to shoot! You will not be disappointed. Remember to order the flints at the same time so you can shoot it when you get it."
Outstanding Flintlock Pistol review by Ralph on 10/23/2015
"I needed a good pistol for teaching NRA Muzzle Loading and this was perfect. My first time order with MuzzleLoaders.com and not my last. Outstanding service and a tremendous group to work with. I will be recommending this company to all. This pistol is a great value as flintlocks are becoming more difficult to obtain and a decent price. Muzzle-Loader.com are extremely price competitive and beat all others. Traditions makes good muzzle loaders. I would recommend them to anyone without any hesitation."
Bought Both review by Darrell G. on 7/21/2015
"I have two Trapper's, a percussion and a flint. Love to shoot them both. They both shoot about 3 inch groups at 25 yds. using 30 gr. of Goex(flint) or 30 gr. of pyro P(percussion)."
