Had I only known! review by Steven Gregersen on 4/2/2019
"Let me begin with the confession that this is the fifth Traditions muzzleloader I have purchased. One is an inline and the others are all sidelocks. Two sidelocks are double trigger ... no problem with them. One sidelock is a single trigger but it works smoothly.
The Deer Hunter, my most recent acquisition, it is far below the quality of the other rifles I have. The trigger is very rough and grating with a hard and heavy trigger pull. I took photos of the sear (which is very rough with a projection on one end that drags like sandpaper!) and emailed it to the company as per their request. The response was decidedly underwhelming. They stated that there was nothing wrong. I wish I could post the photo here that I sent to them. The sear looks like a poor quality casting with a very rough bearing surface.
In any case, I will not be purchasing any more mail order Traditions firearms or kits. I'm going to have to give them a try first and I'll have to do that in person. I may just never buy another again."
Well worth the money review by Dave R. on 9/10/2018
"I bought this as a gift for my son's birthday, then 2 days after I got it he call me and told me he had traded Mech. work for a Remington 700 inline. Gosh DARN it! Now I had to use it. It's a great kit, especially for a first time shooter (I am). It went together with minimal filing and fitting. The balance is very good and it's light enough to carry all day. The directions are clear and simple, and a file & sand paper and a sharp knife is just about all you need except for your finish. Remember to use Magnum percussion caps if you use pellet powder. "
My Old Friend review by J. THOMPSON on 9/9/2017
"I have owned a 50cal Traditions Deerhunter going on 20 years. It is has been an extremely reliable hunting weapon. It is light weight and has great accuracy. It has put more deer down than any other weapon I own. Recommend to anyone new or experienced in muzzleloading. (Aim small miss small)"
Outstanding Kit!! review by Scott Hendrick on 8/14/2017
"You simply can not go wrong for the money; easy to finish and love the way it shoots! Buy this rifle kit, it is a great way to understand the mechanics of a muzzle loading weapon! When finished, you can say, with great pride, that "I built this Rifle' ! I have several muzzleloaders, 3 that I enjoyed building and a Traditions Kentucky Rifle that I bought assembled (Beautiful fit and finish, by the way, at a great price) . Customer service is outstanding and shipping is blazing fast."
