"No problem in the shipping. Arrived in great condition, required just a minimum of sanding on the stock.prior to finish. I was not used to a double set trigger, Going to be fun to shoot. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality and fit of the brass pieces on the stock. Kit guns have come a long way. "
"I purchased one of these and the lock screws weren’t threaded correctly. They stripped as I tried to get them installed because the threads were poorly done. Now I’m considering sending it back if I can get a refund. I am a machinist so I know how threads are supposed to work and these were terrible. Don’t buy would be my recommendation."
"It's a kit gun...a DIY project,so be prepared to do some sanding, maybe a little wood working. But that's why ya bought it!! There's something special about building hour own smokepole, that makes the rifle just that much more fun to own. That said, take your time, dont rush it and you'll end up the owner of a very beautiful rifle, that once you find the load it likes,is a tack driver. Beautiful, solid, well built parts, that fit well together and this rifle is VERY accurate. Not afraid to take small game and wild boar with it. It's that good."
"I gave the Crockett rifle kit a 4 instead of 5 because of the wood. At over $300 for a kit maple would have been better than beech. Everything in the kit dropped in. There was no problems. I added a patch box and a squirrel inlay . Looks great"
"Product arrived as described. Very excited to get started on this with my son after Christmas. Very impressed with the barrel. Very nice rifling. Most parts seem to fit very close, will only require minor inletting. Brass fixtures came with a wonderful polish, and the stock is straight as an arrow. I'll be making another kit purchase very soon. Probably the Kentucky rifle. Get myself familiar with flintlocks."
"Fast shipping great product. I will be back!"
"I bought the kit to do with my son. We had a few issues with the kit right out of the box. The lock had a bad sear and would not stay on half cock. Traditions is sending me a new one, so other than the inconvenience that issue is taken care of. Also had a problem with the rear and front sights fitting into the dovetails on the barrel. I ended up taking to a gunsmith and they got the front sight installed but said there was no hope for the back one. So they put a different sight on the rear. Had to do quite a bit of wood removal to get things to line up so be handy with wood tools or a dremel. Whatever they use to treat the barrel at the factory, is very difficult to remove with degreaser or stripper. Had to remove it with emery cloth to get browning to adhere. The finished product looks very nice and my son likes it. Overall I think the rifle is a good rifle. More care could have been taken during the manufacturing and assembling of the kit. I wonder if all the parts that don't make it to the finished rifles get thrown into a bin, and that's what the kits get. I have a Crockett rifle I bought completed, and it is a really nice gun that shoots well. All I had to do is adjust the sights. Ken"
