"I bought this kit this Summer because I wanted to get into black powder hunting. I was apprehensive about building my own rifle, but it has been a dream of mine since I was little so I went ahead and did it. The build itself isn't too difficult. I only needed a few chisels, a rasp, several grits of sandpaper, and a screwdriver to do the bulk of the work. A good resource for first timers trying this build is the youtube series by duelist1954 on youtube. After finishing my rifle, I took it out to shoot and it is a tackdriver. At 25 yards each shot went through the same hole. I plan to get it sighted in at 75-100 yards for early muzzleloader season here in Virginia. Also Muzzleloaders.com has great customer service and I can't thank them enough."

"I bought this rifle thinking Lyman was a better quality rifle than Traditions. About 90 percent of the way through the build, I received an email from Muzzle-loaders.com that there was a recall on some of the Lyman barrels and breech, that was Feb. I finally received a box to send the barrel back at the end of March. Who knows when I will receive my new barrel. I am being told probably the end of April. Lyman has really dropped the ball. I understand things happen, but 3 or 4 months to solve the issue is poor service in my book, so I'm giving this product 0 stars. Buy a traditions"
