Fun little rifle

Picked this up during the summer because my eyes are getting too old to see the traditional sights on my 30 yr old PA rifle. First off, it's about 3 pounds lighter and 16 inches shorter than the old gal. I took it out and tested it with 70 grains of Goex FFF under a .490 ball with a .15 greased patch. It took about 6 shots to zero it in at 25 yards. Moved back to 50 yards and it was about a 1/2 lower. At 100 yards it dropped about 1 1/2 inches. The groups were nice and tight at each range with several touching. That's good enough for PA deer hunting. Over the course of the summer I put about 200 rounds through it and never had a problem. I used english flints and the frizzen is still looking good. One thing to watch is how quickly the barrel heats up. Since it is small it can heat up pretty quick. No danger but your groups will open up a lot. Used the rifle this past weekend in our early antlerless muzzleloader season and got a nice doe at 45 yards. It's no show piece but it put meat in the freezer.
